BAKAR | ALEXANDRA PALACE

(London)

Renegade had the pleasure of creating a bespoke lighting design for the one-off performance of Bakar at Alexandra Palace. The design was crafted to enhance the central, transparent sculptural stage set, a striking centerpiece designed by Arthur DeBorman.

A large number of lighting fixtures were concealed beneath the stage, along with 12 smoke machines, designed to trap smoke within a transparent wrap, creating a vast lightbox for the artist to perform on.

In each of the four corners of the Great Hall, we designed large stadium-style clusters of strobe bars, beam lights, and followspots. These rigs framed the central stage and complemented the unique, minimal production design for this iconic space, which is rarely used in this way

Overstage projection voiles were employed to relay the performance in black and white, while all lighting throughout the evening was in a singular white tone.
